Where We Find Cathedrals

follow the people who walk to the river

they know where the lord is

follow the ancient ruins that unfold themselves

cradled in the ground, for they know where their home is

they believe in the score of the trees

faint hearts never believe in beauty

but by the blind nature of conditioning

souls are yet deplored of the inner sanctum

of serenity and love

step by step feet are patterned toward ignorance

unsure of all that is

when we’re distracting from what we truly believe

if we forget everything and look under our skin

with stethoscopes to our lungs

and telescopes to our souls

heavens knows

we are the cathedral
